We received our Comcast bill yesterday and low and behold we had several additions charges from the fiasco earlier this month (Refer to blogs for 4/4 and 4/8). Of course this required another phone call to the Comcast Billing Department and the extra charges were for the tickets we opened for the outage. The explanation they gave was when ever you open a ticket and a technical person makes a visit to you house, you are charged even if the outage problem in not at your location. According to my notes on the four day outage, the problem was causes from Comcast equipment four blocks away on a pole. I explain this to the lady and she said, “You still get charged even in this case.” I said “That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever hear and we have opened tickets before that required a technician to visit our house and when he found nothing wrong here, we were NOT charged for the call.” There was a pause on the line and then she said she would credit the additional charges, but the next time a ticket is opened and a technician visits we will be charged even if the “problem” is with Comcast equipment. End of call.So here is what I am thing now. If our Comcast service goes out again because lighting strikes a pole in Podunk, NY and I call Comcast to report the our California outage and they send a technician we will be charged for the repair service. I guess the folks in Podunk NY know not to call because they will be charged, so they wait for someone in California to call and “Walla” their service comes back on for free.
So be WARNED all you Comcast users out there in cyber-space! You call for an outage you get billed for the services of a technician come out to your house.
Nothing compares to Comcast Services.
