High Five Definition:A high five is a celebratory gesture made by two people, each raising one hand to slap the raised hand of the other — usually meant to communicate mutual satisfaction to spectators or to extend congratulations from one person to another. The arms are usually extended into the air to form the "high" part, and the five fingers of each hand meet, making the "five", thus the name. In addition to the standard high five, several variations exist in order to add uniqueness to the experience and to maximize satisfaction.
I have noticed that when guys do “high five” they always seem to execute it to perfection. Also the variations of “high five” would be a “low five” or multiples of both in a specific sequence that both individuals had predetermined ahead of time. Usually upon completion a “belly bump” or a “jumping belly bump” concludes the experience.
I have also noticed that the female population has along way to go when it comes to “high fives”. They just don’t seem to get it. I was watching a group of three ladies the other day on a game show and after each answered the question correctly they attempted too “high five” each other in celebration of the correct answer. Well, I have to tell you that there were several “whiffs”, where their hands did not come close to contact. When they did make contact it was not exactly the exact definition of a “high five” where the fingers and palms meet. The contact was more like a “high 2 ½”, where the fingers of one lady would meet the palm of the other or the hands would be to one side or the other.
So I began to analyze the ladies execution and thought maybe when they were doing the “whiffs” they were attempting to do the “Air High Five”, but this is usually done when two people are several feet away from each other and one person raise their hand and the other person does the same with any intention of contact.
I will be continuing my analysis as to why the ladies can not execute the “High Five” gesture to perfection and maybe it has to do with evolution or genes. I will need to too more research, but what I do know is that a warning should be issue to the female population to not attempt to do the “belly bump” or the “jumping belly bump” until they can master the “High Five” gesture.
Nothing more to add at this time.
