My plan is to start boiling eggs Saturday around noon and get the coloring process under way as soon as possible. We can do a batch of twelve eggs at a time and once the first batch is cooled we can start coloring and start the next batch boiling. We should be done in about eight hours if all goes well, even with a break for a local Easter egg hunt in the park around 3:00 PM.
Then Saturday night when Gaba goes to sleep we can start hiding the eggs in and around the house. I made a detailed map with “Google SkecthUp” to mark where we hide each egg. This is important because one year after the “hunt” was over we came up short one egg. We looked every where and did not find the missing egg. Finally we gave up and hoped it was one of the eggs we hid outside. After about a month we began to smell an odd odor in the family room and followed the smell to the fireplace. There in the wood box was a beautifully colored cracked egg.
We will get Gaba up Sunday morning around 6:00 am to start the egg hunt. Once we find all the eggs on Sunday we will start putting together the twenty-four Easter baskets with the plastic grass, one chocolate bunny, six eggs per basket. Then we will donate the baskets to the local church by noon for their children only Easter egg hunt. Last year adults were allowed to join the hunt, but things got out of hand so this year adults are banned.
Nothing beats Easter!
